Linked rental products alias

Do you offer an overarching accommodation consisting of multiple apartments/rooms? If so, you can use the ‘alias’ function. This function ensures that the availability of the overarching accommodation is updated as soon as one of the underlying apartments/rooms is reserved (or set to ‘unavailable’). Note: if the alias is set to ‘unavailable’, the linked products remain bookable!

Follow the two steps below to set up an alias:

1. Go to the product management section and check the ‘alias’ box under the ‘general’ tab for the relevant accommodation. Then save the page (see image 1).

2. An additional tab called ‘connections’ will appear. Here, you can add the desired products by typing the name into the white input field and clicking the floppy disk icon (see image 2). You can repeat this if multiple rental products affect the availability of the alias.

In the above example, accommodation 123boeken is linked to two apartments. When a reservation is made for Vakantiehuis 12 personen, the two linked apartments are also blocked (see image 3a for an example). When Vakantiehuis 4 personen is reserved, Vakantiehuis 12 personen is blocked (see image 3b for an example), and Vakantiehuis 8 personen remains available.

You can identify linked products by the ‘link active’ notification at the top of the general product information (see image 4). If you want to unlink products, you can remove them from the alias by clicking the trash can icon (see image 2b).

NOTE: This function only works with products that have equal stock levels.
