Creating special periods

In addition to regular booking periods, you can also make use of special periods. These periods can be used for holidays, where different rates often apply, or to create last-minute periods with custom pricing. Special periods can be set up in the following three ways:

Only bookable separately + visible checked (most commonly used):
The special period will be shown in the calendar alongside regular periods with its own price. If the special period exactly overlaps with a regular period (e.g., a weekend), the calendar will only display the special period. Ensure that the check-in/check-out times match the standard entered periods.

Both checkboxes disabled:
The entered price is used as the base for any overlapping period but is not visible/bookable itself. With this setting, the special period’s price is applied, and the week period is increased. For example, a Pentecost weekend running from Thursday to Sunday costs 400 euros. Example price breakdown:

Week (Fri to Fri) = 700,-

Special period = 600,-

Week price: 1,100,- (600 euros for the special period + 500 euros for Fri to Wed)

Visible checkbox checked:
The special period is automatically added to any overlapping period and is also visible/bookable itself.

After creating the special period, but not bookable yet?

– Check the mandatory extras of the object, and enter the special periods for these objects as well.
– Ensure that the arrival and departure times (for the from and to dates) match those of the standard entered periods.
– Check if there are any blocks set under the “unavailable” tab. This could have been done manually or through a connection with, for example, iCal.
– Ensure that ‘restrictions’ comply with the arrival and departure day of the special period. If the special period allows arrival on Thursday instead of the usual Friday, set up restrictions so that specific Friday is not an arrival day. If this is set up correctly, only the special period will be displayed.

NOTE: This function only works with fixed periods (not with free periods).
